Infographics often use many elements to visually convey a complicated issue — this richness is part of their strength — but sometimes a key idea is best expressed simply. This is especially true if it is being released on social media, where minimizing time-to-digest is a crucial factor in its effectiveness. The “idea graphic” above juxtaposes a tangible, emotive image with a beautifully-expressed thought on the same subject, and is aimed at provoking personal reflection about something we’re all too used to seeing.

Simple graphics like this one can never carry the full weight of a content campaign, but they can be highly effective supplements to (and can often be drawn from) larger elements like documentary video, a full web site, infographics, and articles.
